Another Odd Occurrence

When one wakes up in the morning and is in the driveway at 6:30 AM, what do you expect to find? Nothing much.

As I was strolling down the driveway this morning, a paper shaped object caught the corner of my eye. I stared at it for some thirty seconds, contemplating the possibilities of what it could be. Though reluctant at first I eventually approached this paper. I figured it was worth the look, for I had been staring at it for half a minute already and saw nothing wrong investing another twenty seconds to check it out.

Drawing closer and closer to the answer as to what this was, I had two thoughts in my head. One was that it was play money. The second was to half expect someone down the block to have a string attached to the paper, pulling it farther and farther away from me with each attempted nab.

Hesitant, I bent over to make sure there were no strings attached and snatched the piece of paper. It was a dollar bill.

Odd Occurrence

Well, I never knew it was possible to come across a starter log for a fireplace that refused to ignite. I love putting on a fire in the fireplace, but in my three years or so in doing this, have never come across such an odd occurrence. Who has ever heard of this? (This is not rhetorical) It's ridiculous!

I followed the same procedure as normal. Nothing changed, nor was the log wet when I tried to light it. What did burn was the paper that was wrapped around the log. Clearly, it was mocking me. With every inch of the paper slowly burning away, one could tell that this log had this devilishly cunning plot figured out since it was manufactured. I was not all too fond of that. So, I chucked that sucker right out in the forest.

Serves it right.
